Squeezing in a landscape session

It is 6 am and I am too early for a gear check. On purpose. I dragged my tired and overworked body out of bed to just for once take a landscape photo before I drag my tired and overworked body into another gear check. The previous night I had worked late on a video edit for work and in bed my mind was too tired to think of a location for the next morning. Some place accessible enough that I could squeeze in before my work day started. I still set my alarm for 4:30am in case I woke up with an idea. Any idea.

When my alarm signalled my intent from the previous night I actually got up easy with no double minded fog in my sleepy brain. And so after getting ready in the dark I started the one hour drive to Somerset West and still had no plan. It wasn’t going to be an excursion where great images would be made because I did not have enough time and as I neared Somerset West my watch confirmed this to be true. I did have a little time though and decided to go to Bikini Beach in Gordan’s Bay going straight to where I thought would be the best chance of some success.

I spent 30 minutes making a few images and was on my way to another day of making sure the next film shoot will have the right gear. Its not the best images but it represents a lovely breather of 30 minutes doing what I wanted to do.
